Photographs of birds 2 weeks in a row...more than a coincidence? I'm not sure yet :o). There is just something about the visual interest that they add to a shot. As I mentioned on Monday I wanted to capture the parallel lines and the contradiction between nature and man-made. This is one of those cases where I feel completely satisfied that I was able to accomplish what I set out to with a photograph. I would love to know what you think! Thank you for stopping by!

"However glorious an action in itself, it ought not to pass for great if it be not the effect of wisdom and intention." - Francois de La Rochefoucauld
That old pole and the tower in the background are contrasts indeed, and the bird makes the scene more interesting. Well done!
ReplyDeleteEmily I really like this shot. I love all of the thought behind it, too. The symbolism just adds to it.
ReplyDeleteMy only feedback would be to maybe have a little more light (or lighten up post processing) the bird.
Very nice shot!
Now that is one amazing shot. Love the compostition!
ReplyDeleteNice shot. Is this in Seattle?
ReplyDeleteIt is the Space Needle in Seattle as seen from Alki Beach, which is across the water.
DeleteI love your thoughts about this and it works completely!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is sooo beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion: The background tower is what makes this a great photo!
ReplyDeleteA photo which holds your interest and leaves you with questions. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
ReplyDeleteThe juxtaposition
of the timeless and the ephemeral,
of the natural and the man-made,
the small and the large...
great composition.
Beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
