Tones on Tuesday Announcement

I have been putting off this post for a while now, not wanting to write it. However, it has been so many weeks since I posted Tones on Tuesday that I thought some of you might be wondering what happened. So here goes...

Unfortunately, I have had to make the decision to put Tones on Tuesday on hold for a bit. I am a teacher, so this time of year is very busy for me as I ready myself for another year. I am sure many of you can relate as you get ready to send your children back to school. This year is a bit different though as I have decided to pursue advanced certification in an extremely rigorous process. I went to a workshop about getting this started and realized that the amount of time I will need to devote to the process will be more than I was anticipating.

I love hosting Tones on Tuesday each week and I LOVE seeing your photos and getting to know you through them. However, I am also trying to make sure I don't have too much on my plate and feel stressed about honoring all the commitments I make for myself. So, Tones on Tuesday will be taking a little break. I hope to be able to find a way to balance it all and will resume the weekly link up when I feel I can do that successfully.

I hope to still post in some other link ups and still have some time to spend with this passion of mine. I hope that you will do that same and that I will see your photos around! I am really going to miss Tones on Tuesday and all of you!

If you are looking for some other places to link up on Tuesday, see below! Also, if you would like to be notified when Tones on Tuesday is back up and running simply link up below. And of course I could not leave this post without a photo...

I am visiting my dad in Astoria, Oregon for a few days, which is why Tones on Tuesday and my photo were a little late. One of the many perks, besides seeing my family which is the best, is that he lives very near to my favorite beach at Fort Stevens State Park. Last night I headed there to catch the sunset and had the whole beach to myself. I am posting a Lightroom edit and a Photoshop edit as I just discovered Luminosity Masks in Photoshop and I was excited to try them out. I would love to know what you think, which one works better?

Tones on Tuesday #83 7.9.13

Happy July! I thought I was going to be back on track this month with all my editing and posting, but I have been in an editing rut. I have had an amazing time shooting lately, but I get to editing and my excitement wanes. I am hoping to get back to enjoying editing soon. Anyone else going through a rut right now? What do you do to get back to enjoying the process?

Now onto Tones on Tuesday! I would like to try something new with the link up. I would like to invite you to choose the showcases for the week. I love providing a bit of acknowledgement to your talent by showcasing photos, but with just me picking you are only seeing my picks. I would love to have other perspectives. If you would like to participate and pick the 3 showcased photos for the week please read the guidelines below and then email me. I hope to start this next week!

Guidelines for picking showcased photos...
1. You must wait until the link up has closed on Friday night and look at all of the photos.
2. You must pick 3 photos and write a sentence describing what catches your eye about each photo.
3. You must email me the links to each photo and the descriptions by midnight on Sunday.
4. Most likely goes without saying, but you cannot pick your own photo.
5. Have an alternate or two ready in case one of the photos you have chosen does not follow the guidelines.

Please email me at scatteredhorizons.esc@gmail.com if you are interested!

Also, don't forget to link back to Scattered Horizons so your photo can be considered for showcasing!

As I mentioned, I have been having a lot of fun shooting lately. Here is a shot from a photography meet up I went to with the Clickin Moms in my area. We went to a strawberry patch to pick berries. Here is a shot of blackberries and one of rasperries - I did not pick these :).

I also made a new watermark. What do you think?
