Tones on Tuesday #44 09.04.12

Mock-Turtle at Jack's Paper Moon
The contrast between Jack's happy expression and the dark, moody clouds makes for such a great photo! Thank you for sharing!

I have never seen butterfly weed before. The vibrant orange color and interesting shape would certainly make it a favorite if I had. I love the colors and depth of field in this photo. Thank you for sharing Marlo!

This "light painting"is so interesting! I love the dramatic mood of the lighting and the feeling of the lone blooms. What a great story! Thank you for sharing Rebecca.

A couple weekends ago I drove my brother to a wedding in Lake Chelan, which is about 3 hours from where I live. It was a long drive both ways, but along the way I had the opportunity to capture a few shots at a park and then the sun setting over the lake. This shot was taken in Wenatchee at a park where we stopped to stretch our legs and feed the dog who came along. I read somewhere that it is "easy" to get a shot at sunset. I must say I disagree. It might be easy to capture the colors, but to capture the feeling of the sunset can be very difficult. In this case I was trying to show the elegance of the sun beginning its descent. I am not sure I was successful, what do you think?

Settings: ISO 100, 27mm, ss1/160, f/22
