We in the Pacific Northwest have been blessed this Fall with more beautiful sunny days than usual. This weekend that changed and we welcomed back the rain. This photo was taken before some stormy weather made its appearance.
Settings: ISO 400, 50mm, ss1/100, f/11

I want to apologize for not commenting on your photos lately. Work has been much more of a time commitment this year than I expected and I am still struggling to get everything done. I hope you know that I look at each of your photos and continue to be inspired and in awe of your talent. I truly appreciate you linking up anyways! Now on with the showcases...

Night turns to day looking out over Seattle from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill. I got up early on Sunday morning to spend some time witnessing the beauty that is sunrise. As I waited other photographers gathered to see the spectacle and in silence we watched the sky brighten. Once it was over tripods were packed up and I headed for some much needed salted carmel hot chocolate to warm fingers and toes. Early morning wake up and cold were well worth it to see the dawn.
Settings: ISO 100, 50mm, ss4.0sec, f/11 (on tripod)
"Desire makes life happen. Makes it matter. Makes everything worth it. Desire is life. Hunger to see the next sunrise or sunset, to touch the one you love, to try again. Hell would be waking up and wanting nothing." - Karen Marie Moning

Wordless Wednesday: The Clickin Walk!
I have been talking in my posts so far this week about the Clickin Walk. 2012 was the 2nd annual walk hosted by the Clickin Moms site. Basically it is a get together where photographers (many who also are moms :o) walk around a city or place and take pictures while learning from each other and enjoying getting to know one another. Last year I went knowing one person and with a bit of hesitation over what it would be like. This year I went knowing more people and ready to fully embrace the experience. I was not disappointed! I got to walk and talk with old friends, get to know new ones, learn about cameras and lenses, get my picture taken by someone on the street and photograph a bunch of very cool locations! Here are some of my favorite shots...

Following the walk one of the leaders was gracious enough to share her tips for shooting macro shots. She is AMAZING and I learned so much from her. Her name is Kara and you should take a look at her work. It was such a great experience to see her passion for this type of photography. Passionate people inspire me! We shot in the Volunteer Park Conservatory which had a TON of macro opportunities. Here are a few of my favorite shots. I have to say that I will without a doubt be out shooting more macros soon. Especially now that I bought a 100mm macro from a friend. I can't wait!
